Enabling student access to SketchUp during COVID-19 campus closures
Updated: Mar 23
In light of the current COVID-19 situation and the closing of schools in many parts of the world, Trimble is making temporary at-home access to SketchUp Pro available until June 30, 2020 for university and colleges who currently have only lab access, at no additional cost.
Any university who has a current SketchUp Pro Networked Lab License can now access SketchUp Pro from home as remote online learning is being instituted. SketchUp Pro will be available to everyone who previously had access through their school’s networked lab so that all students and educators can continue to work from home successfully.
Simply let your channel manager or distributor know that you have a school administrator/purchaser who needs access to a SketchUp Pro Institutional Laptop Licenses and the license information will be shared with resellers, and in turn with their end-users.
Trimble's browser product for primary and secondary schools, SketchUp for Schools, will be available to everyone through June 30th without the previous requirement of a school subscribing to Google Apps for Education or Microsoft Education platforms. Educators and students can use a personal or school email to sign in, but it still requires the email to be a Google or Microsoft account. Head to https://edu.sketchup.com/app/ and get started.
